QC Microbiologist (Experienced)
This position carries out routine microbiological testing to support the manufacturing facility and process. All work is carried out in a QC GMP environment where the highest level of compliance and attention to detail is necessary. Role focuses on routine activities such as utility and facility monitoring, in-process/release testing, data reporting, activity scheduling and problem solving. The role exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. This individual works with minimal supervision, no instruction on routine work and general instruction for new activities.

Main Job Tasks:
Conducts routine and specialized microbiological assays in standard techniques following SOPs.
Updates and maintains trending files, and provides routine summaries of trending to support investigations.
Reviews microbiological trending data and writes reports summarizing the trends with some guidance.
Investigates and resolves issues related assay failures, system deficiencies, deviations, and equipment / assay troubleshooting, with some assistance.
Maintains, calibrates, and troubleshoots equipment. Performs other routine laboratory activities and peer data review as needed.
Understands Quality Systems such as deviations, change control, CAPA, etc.
Schedules laboratory work in conjunction with laboratory supervisor.
Reviews and amends test method and instrumentation SOPs as needed.
Conducts analyst training.
Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes.
Incorporates the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities and interactions with others.

Knowledge, Skills and
Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent with a minimum of six (6) years related experience.
Understands microbiology concepts and experimental objectives and how they fit into the overall manufacturing process.
Proficient in several of the following: bioburden, endotoxin, microbial identification and area monitoring techniques.
Experienced in a QC GMP laboratory environment.
Must be able to work independently in a team based setting once given minimal instruction/guidance
Troubleshoot and solve technical problems of moderate scope.
Able to prioritize routine tasks and adapt to a changing environment.
Must have excellent analytical and writing skills.
